BikeNewark supports Newark schools that participate in National Bike to School Day or in a weeklong event.
For several years now, John R. Downes Elementary School has held a Bike to School event to encourage young riders to use their bicycles to get to and from school. Held during National Bike Month (May), the Downes event is always a big success.
BikeNewark is looking to partner with other local schools to expand the Bike to School Day celebration and get more kids riding their bikes to school. If your school is interested in hosting a Bike to School Day event in May, please contact BikeNewark.
